Why Choose Duke

When it comes to your fertility care, you want the very best. At Duke Fertility Center, our experienced and compassionate fertility specialists give you the care and confidence you need to make your dreams of building a family come true.

Lab Specimen 2

In addition to your primary fertility physician, the Duke Fertility Center has put together an integrated support team of nurses, psychologists, embryologists and staff who work together to address all of your physical, emotional, and financial concerns. Choose Duke Fertility Center to help build your family because we offer:

Top ranked care. Our reproductive endocrinologists are part of Duke’s gynecology program, which is ranked among the best in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

High-tech, comfortable setting. Our ultra-sterile in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory is designed to maintain air of the highest quality. A sophisticated positive pressure filtration system eliminates airborne toxins and pathogens that can impede the chances of a successful pregnancy after IVF. Sophisticated imaging is available onsite and wide screen monitors allow you to view your embryos before transfer.

Nationally renowned experts. Our infertility doctors are recognized leaders in the field of fertility. They conduct and publish research, speak internationally and educate future doctors on the latest in vitro fertilization techniques.  As leaders and members of national organizations and practice guideline committees, we continually work with infertility experts across the country to evaluate and revise the standards for fertility care.

More fertility treatment options. We offer a wide range of treatments for infertility to customize a treatment plan that is both effective and cost conscious to meet your goals for achieving a healthy pregnancy.

Comprehensive stress reduction program. A diagnosis of infertility and the treatment that follows is often emotionally draining. To address the stress, our clinical psychologist provides individual and couple support groups and therapy. She is also available for consultations if you need support deciding which path to take, or if you and your partner are not in agreement about next steps.

Fertility preservation. Individuals and couples may choose to freeze their embryos, eggs or sperm in order to attempt pregnancy at a later date. Preservation can take place prior to medical treatments that may have a negative effect on fertility or in an effort to preserve fertility options as you age. Sperm cryopreservation can also be used to assist in conception when a partner is frequently unavailable due to career commitments.

Affordable options. We routinely recommend the least expensive and invasive treatment option available.  If more expensive treatments are required, such as IVF, we encourage you to consider financing your fertility treatment using a national service called Advanced Reproductive Care (ARC) Family Building Program.

Egg donation program. Individuals or couples who need a donor egg to achieve pregnancy can arrange to have a friend or relative be evaluated to be their egg donor, or apply to be matched with one of our anonymous egg donors.

Gestational carrier counseling and screening. If you and your infertility specialist determine a gestational carrier is necessary to assist in your journey to parenthood, our team will provide the necessary evaluation and screening to ensure your gestational carrier is suitable and well-prepared for this experience.

Treatment for all reproductive medical conditions. If you have fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome or conditions affecting the uterus, our reproductive endocrinologists can recommend the appropriate treatment to decrease your pain and improve your quality of life. We can also help you experience relief if you have troublesome symptoms during the hormonal transition to menopause.
